Proposition for a Shipping Monument

This child-like toy resembles a 1812 era battleship or pirate ship. It folds into its own packing crate like a child’s pop-up book for easy shipping to exhibitions. Its unpainted plywood surfaces and naïve design suggests a work in progress, a prototype for something grander or the potential for child’s play but the topless figure on the ship’s prow may be more “adult” in appeal.
